UNODC anti-human trafficking video spot wins the short film category at the First United Nations Documentary Film Festival in May 2005.
"Better Future" is the title of the public information announcement UNODC produced in 2002. The video spot focuses on trafficking in men, women and children for bonded and forced labour (e.g. in factories, fields or as domestic servants). With the cooperation of broadcasters worldwide, UNODC arranged for the transmission of the spots on national networks in over 40 countries, as well as on global and regional networks such as CNN International, BBC World and MTV Asia. Millions of people worldwide have viewed the video spots at absolutely no cost to UNODC. The spots have also been distributed among relevant non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to serve as an awareness-creation tool at the local level.
